MULTI-TRACK RECORDING
Formats used are: Digital tape - ADAT S-VHS (16 or 20 bit) Hard disk - Protools TDM Ver 5.1 (MAC; 24 bit) Cakewalk Sonar XT (Windows: 24 bit) MIDI - MIDI tracking is done in
either Protools or Sonar XT; external sound modules from Roland,
EMU, Alesis, ... |
|
EDITING All multi-track and stereo editing is non-destructive, and completely in a digital environment using such software as Protools or Sonar XT or Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge. |
|
MIXING All our mixes are done in Protools. We find it to be flexible, time effective, and not to mention, a whole lot of fun. An assortment of third party plug-ins is used to sonically enhance and obtain the quality that is essential in today's audio products. Clients are sent a copy of each mix for approval before proceeding to the last and final step in the production process. |
|
MASTERING This is not only the last step in the audio production process, but also the last chance to sonically sweeten the final mix. We send our mastering work to "The Digital Sunspot", which is a local mastering studio, for the following reasons:
- their quality of work
- another set of ears to re-check the mix
- if problems are found in the mix by the mastering engineer, they can be repaired by the mixing engineer. Usually within the same day since both studios are local.
If you want to get noticed, do not overlook this step. For an in depth look at mastering, we urge you to visit their site. The Digital Sunspot Inc. |
